SJ Travel & Yachting has been arranging private gulet charters in Turkey since 1991; that makes us one of the very first gulet cruise specialists in Bodrum. 17 years of organizing gulet holidays for guests from all over the world has made us experts at knowing exactly which type of gulet and crew will suit your group. We’re on the spot in Bodrum, near the yacht marina and shipyards, so can keep abreast of new yachts, check on the maintainance of our gulets and be in touch with our captains and crew daily.

Our core SJ team of 5 work year round – answering your first enquiry, suggesting a gulet, providing endless information and advice, and fine tuning every last detail of your gulet holiday, so that when you set foot in Turkey, you can be sure we are taking care of you every step of the way. You’re likely to meet us all one way or another, we all speak fluent, or at least good, English.

Sefa was born in Bodrum so has really ‘grown up’ with gulets and gulet charter (he was at school with most of our captains).  After working for one of Bodrum’s most reputable yacht charter companies he was ready to set up his own charter agency in 1991.  He has always been active in promoting quality tourism in Turkey and is currently President of the Bodrum Association of Turkish Travel Agents.

Kim gave up a career in marketing and the greyness of England to sail in the Mediterranean. That was over 20 years ago when she found Bodrum and made it her home. She has worked as crew on sailing and motor yachts, guided walking groups in Turkey and been Operations Manager for a bareboat yacht charter company. For the last 11 years she has used her marketing and communications skills to help Sefa build up SJ Travel & Yachting.

Hakan has been with the company since the beginning, he’s married to Sefa’s sister and a partner in the business. One of his many roles is making sure your gulet is fully stocked with food and drink before you arrive. He’s always nearby with his bicycle, ready to take care of any last minute shopping requests you may have.

Seher is from Bodrum and joined us 4 years ago with a diploma in Travel Agency Management. Now she is competent in handling most aspects of our business with a very good command of English.

Sibel grew up in Britain with Turkish parents and, after graduating from university, was drawn back to her roots to pursue a career in tourism.  Luckily we found her and in a short time she’s proved herself to be a great asset to our company.  She speaks fluent English and Turkish

Seher or Sibel will be at the airport to give you a warm welcome.  They will show you around your gulet, introduce you to the captain and crew and, over a glass of champagne, give you a short briefing about life on board.  And that’s not just in Bodrum, wherever you start your cruise, be it Marmaris, Göcek or as far away as Antalya one of us will be there to welcome you.
