Begin this cruise in Bodrum, a bustling town with a Bohemian atmosphere, great shopping, and a world famous nightlife. The harbour is dominated by the spectacular Castle of St Peter with tranquil gardens and lovely views of the town. The well laid out Museum of Underwater Archaeology is also definitely worth a visit. From Bodrum sail to Knidos and anchor in the ancient harbour overlooking the ruins of temples and theatres scattered across the slopes. In ancient times Knidos was well known for its naked green statue of Aphrodite, said to bring good fortune to sailors. Further stops along this route could include Datca, a small pretty harbour, sleepy during the day and a great place to shop for Turkish carpets and jewellery, as well as enjoy the lively nightlife. Beyond Datca, the various bays you will stop at range from a red rock and pine covered landscape, to beautifully lush and green coastal hillsides scattered with Medieval, Byzantine and Hellenistic ruins to explore. One of the original sponge diving centres, Bozburun is another highlight of this route. Bozukkale and Serce Liman are both breathtakingly beautiful, and feature sites of historical interest as well as crystal clear waters for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on board surrounded by incredible views. Finally explore Marmaris, a busy resort town with a large modern marina. Both the harbour front and the narrow alleyways of the old town have a choice of restaurants, bars and a lively nightlife. The covered bazaar is the place to shop for spices, carpets and Turkish handicrafts and artifacts. The bay of Marmaris is ideal for windsurfing.
